Environmental change brought by climate warming threatens human's survival, and frequent global calamity leads human's reflection on their activities. The United Nations climate change conference in Copenhagen from Dec.7th to Dec. 18th carries on the historical responsibility of saving the earth's life. The conference attracts foreign and Chinese media to report out of worrying about environment.News about Copenhagen climate conference on People's Daily have corresponded the ones on New York Times from Nov. 1st, 2009 to Mar.1st, 2010 to a certain degree, in the domain of reporting amounts and time, reporting resource and attitude, agenda setting and theme expression. But the divergences in reporting content make a new Sino-US debate in the field of environmental news.The underlying reasons which make differences between People's Daily and New York Times in reporting Copenhagen climate conference are different period of Sino-US economic development, and distinct concept of ideology, Ecological Ethics which is formed on the basis of cultural heritage as well as dissimilar information transmission in ideology. In the news reports, New York Times mainly adopt the attitude of avoidance on environmental issues, or weaken the risk brought by environmental change, while People's Daily emphasize coordinated development between human and nature, confront problems brought by environmental destruction and think highly of improvement of human's life.Chinese environmental news report can draw on the experience of American media, but if China wants to make her own voice in the competitive international media system, she has to follow her national interests and use scientific methods to guide environmental news writing,meanwhile pay attention to perfect the strategies to link them to current international means of communication and reshape Chinese image of taking responsibility in the process of international communication...
