In the time of republic of China,Shanghai became the center of publishing because of its particularity.At the same time,education of middle school in Shanghai developed vigorously,and most of them had magazines.According to the preliminary statistics,the secondary schools' magazines in Shanghai,the republic of China,had more than 400 copies,involving more than 110 middle schools.They are precious fist-hand information.School magazines are an important carrier of students' living and thought conditions,they are also the important historical data in the field of school history,education and social environment changes.By analyzing school magazines' main creative groups and content,the study defines,classifies and analyzes school magazines to detail them in the published form,content,characteristics and common points.From middle school students' life and education details,the study tries to display and analyze students' life as well as the development of Shanghai middle school education change in that period.The paper thinks school magazines show the overall style of middle school students.Relying on the abundant Shanghai secondary education resources,school magazines effort to close to professional journals operating mode in edition,print and publish.In content,they reflect students' great quality such as respecting traditional culture and accepting new knowledge.They also embody the real grow process of teenagers when they related themselves to national peril but have to face the cruel social reality.At that time,school magazines had been a cultural undertaking,an emotional bond and a social medium with a wide range of patterns and beyond the limits of the campus.Although on the whole,the content and structure of the school magazine relative to other publications is too simple,and less than school periodicals in art,publicity,content diversity and other aspects now,the unique content and style of the times exactly reflect the living environment and ideological changes of middle school students in Shanghai area during the Republic of China.Therefore,school magazines are the precious literature worthy of further study.
