Since August 2014, the news of female college studengts lost can be seen everywhere, especially in August and September. August 2014 was known as balck season for female college students usually were lost. The matter exposed by the media caused people anxiety and panic, and also brong academia thinking. Why the media paid a lot of attention to these matters, even particularly excavate them? In the process of disseminating these matters, whether there is a lack of social gender consciousness and deviation. This is the focus of this article research.The aritcle will use gender perspective and media and gender's theories to analyze the matter's reports. In combination with content analysis and textual analysis, the article will use Baidu as the searching toll to find research sample to analyze these reports which since from July 1,2014 to December 31,2014. The article is divided into five parts. The first one is research backgroud and theoretical basis.The second one is the content analysis and overall presentation for these reports. The next part is exploring the reasons why the media chased these matters.The fourth part is analysing the gender strategies that the media used in these reports, with media and gender theories.The back-page is some recommendations for improving similar reports.The research find that sex's exciting and crime's impact prompted the media chasing these matters. Tn the same time, women becoming the best-selling symbol of the mass media consumerism ideology is also the power factor for the media report.while gender stereotypes and masculine awareness are the deep reasons for gender bias which cannot be ignored. Besides, communicators'media literacy is also the important factor why the media pay lots of attention to women's lost rather than men's.Although the media's reports deliver losts of information about public space safe for women, they also intensify the limit from traditonal gender roles. Firstly, accentuation effect and chasing reports of the media, both brong the female college students lost's domino effect and deeped the group of women's out fear and insecurity. Secondly, gender bias in the report alienated the image of female college stutents and form gender stereotype in society, like lack competence. Thirdly, to some extent, wrong attributing and detail description make female college students secondary damage. In the same time, without humanisic in the real sense, news report of gender issues couldn't slove these problems about women's safety. On the contrary, the media make the topic stuntedness, and paly the role of benumbing yong women.
