Discussion On The Living Status And Development Direction Of District And County Museums

China is developing socialist culture. District museums are related closely to the grass-roots, which can give them knowledge directly and raise their cultural literacy.The district museums are different from provincial museums, they mainly reflect the regional geography humanities,they are the local comprehensive museums.Collections are related to the local culture. The main approaches of collecting are:the archaeological excavations, the field acquisition, social investigation, donations and transfers, etc. Displays reflect the regional development and concentrate on the region's history and culture.The development level in district museums are uneven, from the early stages of the founding of the "county, the county built museum", and now the district museums' collections' quality and quality of exhibition are of great significance. District museums need to improve in collection management, exhibition display, collection and research work.I have visited the Jiangning District Museum, the Gaochun District Museum, the Lishui District Museum and the Luhe District Museum. Those district museums are both weak in something and good at something, they can learn from each other. Jiangning district museum has good geographical location, traffic, exhibit high quality, but it is in lack of scientific research ability. Gaochun District Museum has poor geographical location, the traffic there is moderate, it is in lack of temporary exhibitions, talent team construction development is relatively slow. Lishui District Museum is in poor operation condition, but it can conduct museum daily management work, actively carry out socialisation activities. Luhe District Museum in the new house is being built.Through the survey of four district museums in Nanjing, I can conclude that the survival situations has something to do with the local economic and financial situation, history and culture heritage protection, regional leadership emphasis, curator of the museum's quality and ability, talent team construction. In order to promote the future development of the district museums,the curator need the support of the regional leaders, to make sure the leaders pay close attention to cultural undertakings development, and then invested in the museum. With the support of regional finance, the district museums can develop in all aspects like:site selection, architectural design, operations, the museums can put more energy on the displays inside museum exhibition design, collection, protection, socialization, etc; The district museums need to highlight that the museums can reflect the local history and culture, contact the school and community institutions, actively carry out social education and services; District museums in such aspects as collection of research, display exhibition design are in lack of professional talents, so the museums need to contact the teachers in colleges and universities and introduce talents from colleges and universities.
