The establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Indonesia has been 65 years. The two countries kept good relationship and frequent cooperation in political, economic, diplomatic, cultural, education and tourism. Indonesia's new president, Jokowi, proposed the establishment of Marine Axis, advocate the construction of maritime power coincides with the concept of Maritime Silk Road, proposed by Xi Jinping, the president of China. The economic cooperation between the two countries is getting closer, as a result, the image of China in the eys of Indonesians is important for the future cooperation.In 21st century, network and media will broadcast and spread the message very fast based on their respective angles, each national image is created by those reports and events. In order to gain more discourse power in international affairs, and to achieve the recognition of the international community, a heathy and positive national image must be established. Therefore, all countries in the world all put great efforts towards the images of their own countries. Shaping the image of the country can not be separated from the media, these images are determined by our understanding and recognition of the reports and news.Kompas is Indonesia's largest national daily newspaper with highest media influence. Through the study of the theme, sources and angles of Kompas news reports during the period of June 2014 to May 2015, we can have a comprehensive understanding of Indonesian readers' awareness of China national image. From the news reports framework and content analysis, it is helpful to understand the important factors and problems of China national image. In this paper, the choices of the Hongkong issue, the South China Sea issue and the Chinese cultural issue are analyzed, from the core issues it is possible to obtain Indonesian people's awareness of China national image. The key points of this paper can be utilizded for the reference of promoting the national image of China.
