Research On The Improvement Of The Level Of Basketball Referees In Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture

It has been more than hundred year since the beginning of basketball. Today, basketball has become one of the favorite sports in the world. The coaches, athletes and referees are the three bodies throughout the process of the game since the beginning of basketball. The referees'level plays a key role in the development of basketball. Nowadays, the population of basketball has more than billions, and basketball has become one of the most compelling contest in our country. Basketball referees play an important part in improving the work of the basketball and competition. Therefore, constructing and cultivating an outstanding basketball referee team has become an important task in basketball sport. Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture is in the west of Sichuan province, and the basketball made a rapid development in this region. However, basketball level is relatively low, for lacking excellent basketball referees with the state-level or above. The work of fostering and constructing basketball referees is not ideal with kinds of problems. In order to analyze the current problems objectively and accurately, and to find out the negative factors to propose a solution to the problem in this region, the author made investigation, analysis and research for the status of basketball referee in Ganzi prefecture through field visits, questionnaires, etc., hoping to build a high level of basketball referee team and to promote the development of local basketball at the same time. The research result will provide a theoretical basis for the basketball referee in local department. The results are as follows:First, basketball referee level is not high, and the geographical distribution is also low in Ganzi prefecture for lacking the national-level judges and female referees. The referee team is relatively young, lacking the promising youth, and there are less minorities as the referee.Second, the basketball referees in Ganzi prefecture have lower level with limited self-learning consciousness and lower ability of understanding the basketball rules and referees law. Due to the poor Mandarin and English, the communication with the outside world is not desirable.Third, being lacking the opportunity to observe the sport in the level of province, country and world, and also due to the geographical and cultural difference, the basketball referees in Ganzi prefecture made a big gap for the referees outside the region.Fourth, the training and selection system for basketball referee in Ganzi prefecture is not perfect.
