The big five model has been widely used in the field of career psychology, many researchers have investigated the relationship between the big five model and career decision-making difficulties with questionnaires. With the application of the Implicit Association Test (IAT) and its variants in personality researchs, researchers have begun to focus on the implicit measure of the Big Five traits of personality. We used the Multifactor Implicit Association Test (MFT-IAT) program, CBF-PI-B questionnaire and CDDQ questionnaire,105 students from Hehai University and Nanjing Normal University were invited, to investigate the relationship between the implicit, explicit Big Five traits of personality and career decision-making difficulties, the conclusions are as follow:1. The implicit effect of each dimension of the Big Five traits of personality is significant, and the differences between the implicit effects of five dimensions are significant.2. No gender difference is found in the implicit Big Five traits of personality, but the gender difference in the explicit Big Five traits of personality is significant.3. Besides the agreeableness and conscientiousness dimensions, no significant correlation is found between the implicit and explicit of the Big Five traits of personality.4. The career decision-making difficulties of the students are of medium level, and there is no gender difference but education background difference in it.5. No significant correlation is found between the implicit Big Five traits of personality and career decision-making difficulties; but there is significant correlation between the explicit Big Five traits of personality and career decision-making difficulties, and apart from the agreeableness dimension, other dimensions of the explicit Big Five traits of personality can significantly predict the career decision-making difficulties.6. The degree of separation between the implicit and explicit neuroticism can significantly predict the overall level of career decision-making difficulties, the lack of information and the inconsistent information difficulties; the degree of separation between the implicit and explicit openness can significantly predict the lack of readiness difficulties.
