Purpose: Using the laser speckle blood flow imaging system and questionnaire survey to indagate the charateristic and the featureths of propagated sensation along meridian phenomenon. To observe the blood changes and subjective sensation when needling GB34,nonacupoint on meridian and neither meridian nor acupoint, explore the blood flow changes and subjective characteristic of propagated sensation along meridian.Material and method: This study is based on the research of healthy volunteers. All subjects were from the Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.24 volunteers was including. All the subjects were acupunctured GB34,nonacupoint on meridian and neither meridian nor acupoint. The shortest interval of each acupuncture was 24 hours. In the course of needling, recording the subjective sensation of propagated sensation along meridian by the questionnaire, and present its intensity by the VAS.Blood flow changes were observation by the laser speckle. Results: 1.The meridian was divided into I,II,III,IV four grades: I grade: Local needle obviously but no sensation propagated yet;II grade: Local needle obviously and the sensation of meridians appeared, down to Guangming,5 cun above the tip of the external,or up to xiyangguan,3 cun above GB34;III grade: Local needle obviously and the sensation of meridians appeared, down to the tip of the external,or up to fengshi,7 cun above the transverse popliteal crease.IV grade: Local needle obviously and the sensation of meridians appeared, down to the later side of foot,or up to huantiao,at the junction of the lateral one-third and medial one-third of the line connecting the greater trochanter and the hiatus of the sacrum.PSM of GB34 is significantly higher than the other two groups(P < 0.05),non acupoint group and meridian acupoint group showed no significant difference(P > 0.05).2.Acupuncture Yanglingquan and non acupoint, the transmission basicly according to the meridian but the non acupoint of the transmission line is not clear, the suspected gallbladder sensation in 2 cases,8 cases of suspected stomach meridian,10 cases of transmission line is not clear.3.Soreness,numbness,distention and aching appeared among acupuncture needling, the frequency of various needle sense and VAS score were not statistically different.Regard I,II,III grade transmission as the low-level transmission,IV grade as high-level,the VAS score in advanced group of Yanglingquan is higher then junior senior sensation sense, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);there was no statistical difference in the scores between the lower and advanced sensory transmission of non acupoint on meridians groups(P>0.05).4.Comparison of acupuncture Yanglingquan, nonacupoint on meridian and neither meridian nor acupoint blood microcirculation changes of extremities acupoints: Yanglingquan group qiaoyin, xiaxi, zulinqi, qiuxu needle blood flow increased than before needle, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);nonacupoint on meridian and neither meridian nor acupoint group the blood flow of the extremities decreased and there was no significant difference(P>0.05).5.In Yanglingquan group the needled blood around qiaoyin was positively correlated with meridian sesation(P<0.01),there was no correlation between the blood flow value of each point of the meridian non acupoint group and the non non acupoint group(P>0.05).6.Comparative and analysis Yanglingquan group and non acupoint meridian group blood flow correlation with low or high-level transmission.Yanglingquan group lower transmission had no correlation with the blood flow of each point,high-level was positively correlated with blood flow in Jing point of qiaoyin and Yuan point of qiuxu;the non acupoint group in low,and high level sensory transmission had no correlation with the blood flow value of each point.Conclusion:1.Acupuncture GB34,non meridian point and neither meridian nor acupoint can excitated the sensation and the sensation degree in yanglingquan group significantly longer than the other two groups which explain the acupoint specific effect.2.Acupuncturing GB34,the value of blood flow in the extremities increased than before the needle;acupuncture the nonacupoint on meridian and neither meridian nor acupoint, the blood flow has no changed, which further demonstrated the specificity of acupoints.3.Acupuncture GB34 cause propagated sensation along meridian and acupoints of acral blood flow value increased;the higher degree of meridian, the higher blood flow value of acral,,explain the acupoint meridian specific effect, which suggest the surface of the skin microcirculation can serve as a further explore the propagated sensation along meridian.
