This paper focuses on food design as a new-born subject in the field of art anddesign,which is an imaginative tool to play an important role in the future of humaneating.It is also a guiding way to design and explore future eating behavior patterns ofhuman beings.The use of food materials and the importance of eating behavior make thelink between food and design become a part worth exploring and discussing in the field ofart and design.First of all,the article discusses how people,as the core object of fooddesign and the subject of receiving information,obtain their content through the fivesenses,and complete the sensory experience relying on eating behavior.Then we try togive the definition of food design within theoretical category,and expand the link betweenfood and design involved in the definition,and then combine with the relevant cases toexplain.Finally,through the case study of targeted design,the paper discusses how to fullyexpand and excavate the breadth and depth of food materials and design thinking in thefuture social environment so as to discover the new direction and potential of food designto guide and influence the creation of visual communication with theme of food design.
