Nowadays, social development level and educational level have been elevated. Meanwhile, each family pays more attention to the all-round and healthy development of children. But we usually attach more importance to their educational training than on their natural instincts of playing. In fact, playing plays a facilitating role in children's growth, and they can acquire good cognitive competence by playing a variety of toys. A good toy lies on its design, and the cognitive process of children should be fully understood before finding out the corresponding relationship between their cognitive development and playing toys. In this paper, the development law of children's physiology and mentality has been studied, and features of physical and mental development process of children from 0 to 6 years old have also been analyzed by starting from the nature of toys and research on toy design, and the relationship between preschool children's growing process and toy design is going to be cleared up in this paper.This paper is divided into four parts. Cultural environment and natural environment for children's growth under time background have been reflected on in part one. In part two, the range of study on toys and its development status have been analyzed. In part three, features of children's mental and physical development in different stages have been studied. And in part four, the interrelation between children's growth and toy has been explored.
