Driven by the market economy and boosted by modern industrial technology,children’s toys are becoming more and more complicated in variety and function,but the contradictions such as the loss of dominant purpose,the dilution of entertainment,and the lack of creation and exploration are widely highlighted.Children’s toys more than adult’s subjective cognition as design basis,lack of physical and mental development of children toys and satisfy the thorough consideration,not to study from the perspective of children’s toys and games,will only simple sum of functions,operation ability of adaptability and ignores the children game process to explore the desire and pleasure experience of creation.Guided by the theory of mental models,this paper focuses on the mental needs of preschool children’s construction toys,and aims to improve children’s pleasant construction game experience,so as to explore the research process of improving the matching degree of preschool children’s construction toys and children’s mental needs.Through the construction of preschool children to construct the mental model of the game,analysis,mining toy functional needs and the relationship between various needs,through quantitative analysis,research the design elements and design objectives of the relationship,in order to improve the fit between toy design and preschool children’s mental needs.The main work is as follows:Firstly,the research process of preschool children’s toys based on mental model was analyzed,and the process was optimized according to the characteristics of preschool children’s physical and mental development.Secondly,the mental model construction method of Indi Young was used to construct the mental model of preschool children doing specific games.That is,the attitude and behavior of users’ product experience were obtained through questionnaires,interviews and POEMS,to form the atomic task database,and to build the task layer,task tower and mental space.It is pointed out that constructing behavioral needs and model game interaction needs are the key design factors to meet children’s emotional needs and obtain more pleasant interactive experience.On this basis,with the purpose of improving pleasant interactive experience,the analytic hierarchy process(AHP)is applied to identify three design factors,including game special effects,variable model parts and mobile model,which have a great impact on improving the pleasant experience of construction toy operation,and provide a basis for the design of construction toy.Finally,based on the theoretical research results,the design practice of children’s constructed toys was verified,and the toy design was evaluated by user return visit and experience questionnaire,which proved the effectiveness of the method.
