As an indispensable partner in the process of Children's growth and learning,the book is an important medium for them to understand the world,learn knowledge,and enlighten wisdom.Children's cognitive ability develops with the changes of their ages according to the continuous maturity of their physiological functions.Each stage has its own different cognitive ability.Children's reading training at the preschool stage plays an important role in Children's future learning and life.Therefore,the book design that meets the characteristics of preschool Children's cognitive development is of positive significance for Children's reading acceptance and promotion of cognitive development at this stage.Taking the preschool children aged from 3 to 6 as the research object on the basis of the cognitive development theory of Jean Piaget and Lev Vygotsky,this thesis analyzes the cognitive ability of preschool children in this stage,and expounds the design needs of preschool children for books according to the characteristics of their cognitive development.This thesis focuses on exploring design principles for preschool children's books--humanization,fun,ingenuity,and integrity.Moreover,on this basis,this thesis makes a concrete analysis on four aspects of book design(form,layout,color,and material).Finally,many thoughts and views on the future development trend of preschool children's book design are put forward.
