Since the information age,the information exchange has become more frequent.A variety of display devices have become an important way for people to obtain information.Among them,LED full-color displays are used in various large-scale public places for their advantages of large-scale real-time display of video images.This thesis firstly puts forward the research value of LED display controller from the diverse applications of LED display and the broad market prospect,and arranges the related technical foundation,meanwhile studies many kinds of controller technologies.It further understands the structure and working principle of various LED full-color display display systems,and designs a serial LED full-color display controller structure according to requirements and scenarios,and combines related control technologies and video data processing technologies to complete the LED.Design and implementation of a full-color display send card.The main tasks of this topic are:1.The target of the controller designed for this project is an LED full-color display.The resolution of the video source and target display is planned to be 1280×720@60Hz.for a large number of related to the basic knowledge of research and analysis,Based on this,the basic structure of the controller is designed as a serial controller structure.2.Determine the structure of serial controller based on FPGA and design data transmission interface and protocol according to display requirements,including HDMI video data transmission interface,serial interface for command transmission,FLASH and DDR3 for data storage,Data transmission Gigabit Ethernet,in-depth study of the relevant interface and the chip selection;3.According to the display requirements and the control requirements,the overall module of the controller sending card is planned and analyzed by the modular design method.The specific design of each functional module is completed,and the relevant processing of the video data is mainly designed and completed,including the color space conversion and video image scaling processing,etc.,and use hardware description language(HDL)to complete the programming of each module,using Modelsim simulation software for each module to verify the simulation;4.Complete the synthesis of the top-level module,the design of the experimental program to verify the correctness and effectiveness of the sending card design.
