Study On The Development Predicaments And Strategies Of China's 24-Hour Self-service Libraries

In response to the call of the UNESCO World Reading Day and the fulfillment of the requirements of the 16 th CPC National Congress on building a learning society,China launched the “Reading for All” activity in 2006.In recent years,the term “Reading for All People” has been written many times in the government's work report,and the “Scholarly Society” has been proposed.Then Premier Li Keqiang talks with reporters about his reading experience,and “I hope that reading for all people can create an atmosphere”.All of them fully highlight the party's and the government's concern and advocacy for promoting the reading of all citizens and building a learning society.The busy and fast-paced life makes the convenience of books an important factor influencing the reading rate.The emergence and application of the 24-hour self-service library has greatly helped solve this problem.Therefore,it is very necessary to study the development status and development strategies of our 24-hour self-service libraries.In view of this,this paper probes into the development difficulties and strategies of China's 24-hour self-service libraries,with a view to providing reference and reference for better serving the nation.This article first reviewed the development of reading for all people and outlined the current status of public reading facilities in China.Second,it introduced the 24-hour self-service library and pointed out the necessity of its development.Then,it analyzed the development of 24-hour self-service libraries.On the basis of research,it introduced the current status of the operation of four typical cities in China;subsequently,it analyzed and summarized the development predicaments of China's 24-hour self-service libraries: the construction and operation of the main body is single,and the regional development is unbalanced.The layout of outlets is not strict enough,the resources of the literature are not reasonable enough,and the using situation needs to be improved;finally,the development strategies of the 24-hour self-service libraries in China are discussed from the aspects of construction and operation mechanism,outlet layout,book distribution,book update,promotion and digitization.Diversified construction and operations,comprehensive consideration of layout,using new technologies to optimizing books,using data monitoring to updating of books,good publicity and promotion of digitization and recommendation functions.
