Scientific Collaboration In The Field Of AIDs

ObjectiveBased on the author's collaboration perspective,this study combines the theory and index from network science,scientometrics and social network analysis.Visualization atlas are drawing to display and analysis the present situation of cooperation,to find and grasp the rule of cooperation,to find high impact institutions and researchers.The study have provided decision basis and reference information for researchers choose partners rationally.Managers train the top innovative talents.Besides,decision-makers do strategic development planning and top level design.MethodsAIDS data of Sources comes from CNKI and Wan fang for Chinese study,and SCIE,SSCI and A&HCI of WOS database for global English research,which are batch processed with Python language and Excel functions.Then extracting sub-nets and related indexes by means of Pajek.Next drawing the map of collaboration network with VOS viewer.Finally,the cooperative analysis of AIDS research papers in Chinese is mainly based on the general information,the annual change of cooperation,the analysis of the characteristics of multilevel cooperation network,the research theme evolution analysis.And the global English AIDS research papers also combine H index with four aspects: general papers information,subjects,authors,institutions,and national cooperation network analysis.Research themes evolution analysis are also included.ResultsFrom 1983 to 2016,Chinese scientific research output in the field of AIDS surged and then declined.The number of journals in the field was the highest in Sichuan and Beijing.Guangxi and Guangdong had more funding than other parts.The tendency of cooperation among authors,institutions and provinces increased as a whole,but the agencies and regions were in a negative growth state for the last ten years.The cooperation degree was: 3.21,1.38,and 1.11.The cooperation ratios were 67.82%,26.59%,and 9.02%,respectively.The scale of cooperation was 2-5 people,with 75.13% in one partnership and 10 times in 1.09%.Shao Yiming and Xinghui had the greatest intensity of cooperation.The cooperation form was mainly based on the cooperation of institutions and the single entity.The relatively loose author's network existed the phenomenon of small groups,forming the author cooperative groups represented by Shao Yiming,Zhang Fujie,Duan Song,Shang Hong,Cai Weiping,Wang Zhe,Liu Wei,Wu Zunyou,and Wang Ning,which mostly were star-shaped structures.The regional cooperation network formed a group of cities represented by Beijing,Shanghai,Guangdong,Liaoning,and Tianjin.Beijing and Shanghai have a strong ability to control resources.What's more,HIV virus and infection,behavioral science,communication,publicity and health education,co-infection,treatment methods,and vaccines are the main research activities.The number of papers on global English AIDS research has been increasing year by year,and it has negative growth since 2014.The ranked top journals mostly come from the United States and the United Kingdom.The annual frequency was cited as the highest 1985 years,stable development to 2004,followed by a straight decline.The study involved 29 languages,with the most in English,French,German,and Spanish,and ranked seventh in Chinese.This study involved 152 disciplines.The largest scale of the discipline was 4.The average academic discipline was 1.66,and the disciplinary cooperation ratio was 45.48%.The cooperation of immunization,infection and virusin AIDS was the most closely.The maximum number of authors is 858,averaging is 5.54,and the cooperation ratio is 90.39%.Both of them show a trend of increasing year by year.The authors scale is 3-6,and fastest growing is the more than 10.De Clercq,E1?Balzarini,J1 and Pannecouque,Christophe formed a close high-strength cooperation network,the Swiss author Telenti,Amalio most widely collaborated,Montaner,American scholars Richman,DD and Walker,Bruce D.has higher H index.There are 2.54 institutional agencies,61.59% institutional cooperation ratio,2-4 scale,and over 5 institutional partnerships with higher speed.The United States institutionals,such as Harvard University,Johns Hopkins University and University Washington,etc.,UK University Oxford and Canada Mcgill University was the main contributors.With an average of 1.38 countries,and a country cooperation rate of 25.29%.The degree of cooperation has grown slowly year by year.Country cooperation network centered on the United States,the United Kingdom,South Africa,the Netherlands,Germany,France,and China.The United States has most important functon,and work closely together with the United Kingdom.A comparative study between Chinese and the global English has found that the Chinese AIDS research started late and developed rapidly,but has poor research stability.There is a large gap between Chinese and global English on cooperation degree and size,especially the growth rate of institutions and regions is slow,and the growth rate in the past decade is negative.China's authors and institutions combine centralize and looseness,besides,the number of core institutions is relatively small.Chinese research theme is distinctive and the power distribution is concentrated,but the system and comprehensiveness are inferior to the global English.Research in Chinese is strongly correlated with regional AIDS and GDP,and the global English level is strongly correlated with GDP and weak correlated with national AIDS numbers.ConclusionsThe overall increase in the volume of AIDS research has declined slightly in recent years.The global English AIDS research paper has a higher level of cooperation than Chinese,and its institutions and regions are more obvious.Highly influential authors,institutions,regions and countries play an important role in the field of AIDS.AIDS research forces and cooperative tendencies are influenced by disease distribution,economic development,geographic distance and policy.
