Study Of Scientific Research Paper Co-author Network And Cooperation Relationship

In the age of knowledge economy, Science and technology are developing rapidly, and disciplines involved in research projects are becoming increasingly extensive. This prompts researchers to exchange and cooperate between each other, and scientific cooperation has gradually become the mainstream of scientific research methods. The cooperation between them is mainly reflected by publishing articles in the same periodical literature, so periodical literature is the important way to understand the situation of researchers'exchanges and cooperation. Now many studies use one or several journals or database as research samples to calculate the publishing number and distribution of papers by co-authors to explain the cooperative condition in a discipline. But this kind of research can only analyze the authors'cooperation in a certain area in terms of cooperative numbers, it can't who are core authors, and also can't reveal the deep cooperative relationship hidden behind the network.In a well constructed co-author network, we can use social network analysis methods to analyze the cooperative relationship between researchers and analyze the structure characteristics of the network itself, and further reveal some of its properties and find the core author of this network, learn about the mainstream research direction of scientific research institutions and scientific research rules in this field. In recent years, many subjects used social network analysis methods to research different types of cooperative network, also found some rules. But when constructing the cooperative network, many papers used binary digraph, this will cause the loss of some information. In this study we use assignment graph to instruct co-author network, and the analysis results can reflect the characteristics and the inner laws of this field. This research is divided into six chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, mainly explains the background and motivations of the topic, it reviews the literatures about cooperation condition and network researches of multiple disciplines internationally, and put forward the issues to be studied, research methods and the whole framework of research and ideas. Chapter 2 firstly introduces scientific cooperation theory and methods of evaluating scientific cooperation; then summarizes the social network and its related applications; finally introduces the rise of the social network analysis methods, the concept and research tools. Chapter 3 applies statistical analysis methods and the social network analysis methods, selects the core periodicals of medical informatics field as data sources to discuss the network distribution and information flow conditions in the network through the corresponding data statistics and cleaning up. Chapter 4 analyzes the cooperation mechanism of medical research papers, discusses the necessity, form and function, and the main problems of the mechanism. Chapter 5 according to the research results, this paper discusses how the position of individual in the network affects the flows and dissemination of knowledge, proposes the corresponding countermeasures and the suggestion for how to become the core team, and discusses the community structure of the formation mechanism which shapes in the development of the network. Chapter 6 is the end of this study, and summarizes this research and proposes the future research direction to continue.In the empirical study, we researched network and regional cooperation conditions of two core journals of medical informatics field between 2005 and 2009 years, and we found that the total number of publications and co-author scale all showed ascendant trend except 2009. The study also found that the numbers of core authors are small; co-author occurs mainly in the relationship between the same research institutions, and the phenomenon of cross-regional and multinational cooperation was not common; areas with developed economy and advantageous geographical position, played an important role in the cooperation network. According to the problems found, we put forward corresponding countermeasures, so as to promote medical field development better. The innovation in this dissertation is different from the existing articles, we use assignment graph instead of binary digraph to analyze network, this is a new attempt, and has important research significance, the conclusion by this analysis are more persuasive, and we can have deeper understanding of scientific cooperation.
