Design And Implementation Of Social Network Visualization And Analysis Tools For Network Inspection

In modern society,with the explosive expansion of the Internet, network based communications have replaced the traditional mail and phone busyness and have became the major communication methods of the people, and a virtual society appeared on the network as well. Every society needs monitoring and managing, a network monitoring system is a system that would detect and handle the harmful or illegal online behaviors in the virtual society. With the new requirements of the social network analyze of virtual subject, most system can not fulfill these requirements, specific analyze tools must be developed. This paper is to design and develop a visualized social network analyzing tool based on an existed network inspection system. By analyzing communication data, it shows a social network structure of a specific subject. It's a powerful support for virtual society management.The work as follows: first to gather the user requirements of the visualized social network analyze based on the existing network inspection system, and clearly separated into functional and none functional parts. Then to analyze those requirements, by analyzing the special requirements of the development tools and the system scheme has been decided. Then we work on the high level design of the system in both hardware and software. We finished the deployment design and the software architecture. In the high level design stage,two important part of the system have been researched carefully. One is to make the decision of which visualization tools to choose by using MAUT(multi-attribution utility theory)method, the other is to chose a client-server communication mechanism based on user friendly principle. After the high level design phase was finished, three major parts of the system are selected to make detailed analysis and design. Those include the key data extraction and transformation algorithm; the mission based using method for system usability; the graphic user interface design for user friendly. After the design and development, we tested the prototype with a typical use case and all the functions, and we collected the performance testing data on the real database and analyzed the result as well. Finally, with the participation of the end user and the system test, we recorded all the problems and shortages of the prototype, and got a lot of useful advices also. We have discussed and analyzed those problems and advices, then set our next step goal. At last, the achievement of the work gets the end users'approvement.Now, the achievement of this paper is to get more and more attention, and accepted by more people. Users use this visualized social network analyze tool to deal with the suspected network account in the network inspection system frequently in the daily work. Then more they use the more advanced requirements they get. The prototype alone has already make good social and economic benefits. With the continuous improvement of the tool, we can foresee that the social network analyzing function will become an important and irreplaceable part of the system in the future. Moreover, the analyzing technique will be used at the similar application and contribute to the domestic's data visualization field.
