Design And Practice Of MES In Wuhu Pipe Company

As a fittings-making company in the traditional casting industry,it is well-known that problems,such as the long process flow,the great variety of product category,and the high-rising cost,are existed,and companies are facing the challenges of how to react more effectively to the individual needs of customers and to cope efficiently with the increasingly intensive competition among their own industries.The successful application of MES system helps a company strengthen the its production control,use its resources more effectively,improve its product quality,elevate the level of inventory management,realize Agile Manufacturing Production,and enhancing their market share.This thesis,targeting the Fittings Department of Wuhu Xinxing Ductile Iron Pipes Company,analyzes the problems facing the department while producing products in terms of the mode of fittings production.In combination with the characteristics of the department,the thesis figures out the design of function modules and the system architecture of the MES system.Firstly,aiming at the department's needs for the MES system,the process has been generally analyzed and designed,including the system architecture,the selection of the system's software,hardware and database.Secondly,the key techniques of the MES system of Fittings Department has been researched and carefully designed,including functional modules such as order management,quality management,cost management,and inventory,shipping and production management.At last,each modules of the MES system has been tested.The establishment of the MES system standardizes the information transmission flow,controls product quality,realizes the real-time production scheduling,improves productivity,and lowers down the funds occupied by inventory.After the implementation of the MES system,the system itself and its interface functions well.By using the system,the real-time information transmission time between each modules of the department has been realized,which effectively solves the problems such as the chaos of workshop information transmission and the high rising production and quality cost.
