Job hunting is an important period in life for college graduates before starting work.They encounters opportunities and challenges,and also get lots of help and experiences,including many exchange and collision of social capital.This research starts from the interact and conversation made by job applicants in WeChat,and describes the current process of job hunting for new graduates,and explores the discourse strategies,rules,as well as how they use and accumulate social capital in this process.In the current job hunting process,strong relationship and weak relationship exist at the same time.There is a change from the strong relationship of relying on the traditional to the general acquaintance.WeChat provides one to one communication tool for the students,and also a platform for group communication.The student job seekers choose the weak relationship in the organization,transform it into strong relations and gain social capital.Due to the inequality of information,job seekers have gradually established their relationship network,but there are also disadvantages of information overload.Job seekers used many discourse strategies when they applied for jobs in WeChat.When the object of speech is spoken,the key words and quantitative rules used by the institutional agent in the group can create a tense and anxious job hunting atmosphere and form the norms of the group members when they speak.The presentation mode in the group develops toward the direction of experience.The group members greatly enhance the confidence level in the group through self-disclosure and slots,and the group members join the discussion by repeated behavior,and form a transient emotional community to support each other in a short time.The use of images and expression packs in the communication complement the information that mere words can not provide,create a social atmosphere and extend the depth of communication.The rhetorical and statement patterns within the group are closely related.The group members carry out emotional support to each other through self mockery.By repeating the pressure on the rules of reciprocity within the group,the group members also deepen each other's sense of identity and belonging.During exchange and interaction,job seekers slowly form rules of discourse to help themselves acquire more social capital.For example,in the organizational framework of the job hunting group,it forms its own norms,and closed social networks in the form of silence,limiting the opportunities for other members to participate in and obtain social capital.Rules and strategies of discourse reflect the social capital of job seekers.The institutionalized agents within the group will force the rules in daily activities,and establish a punishment mechanism for violation of the rules,and the group members will give feedback to it after the approval of the rules in order to achieve the purpose of cooperation and reciprocity in the short term.Then,job seekers share information through information,simple question and answer,experience sharing and self-disclosure,providing emotional support,gradually establishing reciprocal norms,and strengthening trust for each other.In the interaction,the exchange object also needs time,attention and the original social capital to complete the transformation and accumulation of social capital.These capital will also extend from the line to the line,and have an impact on the real life.
