As the most improved real-time mobile devices,WeChat seems to play an important role in building Interpersonal relationship network.According to the Research on Social and Economic Influence of WeChat in 2016,WeChat users have an average number of friends of 194,which contradicts the classic "Dunbar Number" theory of anthropology that reveals individual energy allows a maximum of 150 people to have stable relationships.WeChat continues to innovate technologies and patterns to make it easier and cheaper to communicate with people.It is challenging with the conventional theory and provides more possibilities for users to expand their social networks.Whether the using of WeChat just wastes our time or can give us some help? Can it provide us with valuable social resources? To what degree does it influence individual social capital? Based on these questions,the author gets the idea to study how the using of WeChat influence Interpersonal relationship network.The author also take the social presence into the study,to study whether the sense of immediacy in WeChat can contribute to social capital enhancement,whether social presence plays an intermediary role between usage behavior and individual social capital.This article will conduct a detailed study on the relationship between WeChat usage behavior and individual social capital by using a combination of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis,in which it will divide the WeChat usage into three dimensions,such as using intensity,dependence,using preference.In spite of this,it also separates the social presence into sensory social presence,affective social presence and cognitive social presence in which the thesis specifically analyzes how the usage behavior arouses the social presence in order to promote individual social capital.At first,the article will review the literature at home and abroad and establish the “WeChat usage behavior---social presence---individual social capital” mode.In addition,referring to previous survey and making a preliminary research,the article makes the formal questionnaires and collects 358 valid questionnaires in total.At last,this article will process the data by applying SPSS20.0 and AMOS21.0 to verify the hypothesis.In summary,there are three major findings in this paper as followed:(1)using intensity has direct influence on individual social capital instead of using dependence;information function,social function and entertainment function have no effect in individual social capital.(2)using intensity and using dependence have positive effects on the different dimensions of social presence;only small part of functions have effects on small part of social presence.(3)social presence has the mediating function between using intensity and using dependence and individual social capital.Finally,the paper proposes some management suggestions to WeChat users and social media companies.
