Under the digital environment, the explosive growth of information resources, the risen cost of resources procurement and the change of readers' needs on information, make it hard for a single library to meet readers' demand for information,so to realize resources sharing and mutual interests has become the common goal of library pursuit.Jiangsu Academic Library&Information System(JALIS),as a part of CALIS,is one of the largest regional university library information resource sharing system in China as well as a successful domestic regional library consortium, which has obtained many important practical achievements and influence in terms of resources co-construction and sharing. As one of the sub-projects of JALIS Phase ? Project "Jiangsu Academic Digital Library" during the 10th Five-Year Plan,Lib-Passport regional circulation system has realized overall development of the traditional resource sharing service and has created a new set of service management system with the service concept of resources co-construction,sharing,personalized service mode and the improving service management tools. Therefore,to carry out the study on the structure characteristics of Lib-Passport regional circulation network and its dynamic evolution process have theoretical research value and practical guiding significance for the construction and development of the regional library consortium. This research took both resource sharing theory and social network theory as a guide, selected 2005-2014 years actual operational data of Lib-Passport regional circulation system as the object of empirical research,to study and reveal the structural characteristics and dynamic evolution process of Lib-Passport regional circulation network about its components, the dynamic evolution process of the relational network, the institutional contribution network and its dynamic evolution process with the relevant indicators of measurement and visual analysis. The analysis of the components of Lib-Passport regional circulation network showed that:in the composition of the readers, the master and faculty were the core groups of Lib-Passport regional circulation network;in the composition of the institution, the southern area in Jiangsu, led by Nanjing, was the main circulation of the institutions in Lib-Passport regional circulation network;in the composition of resource, overall flow of resources in Lib-Passport regional circulation network was showing a downward trend.A small number of institutional members are the main resource output agencies for Lib-Passport regional circulation network. The research on relational network structure of Lib-Passport and its dynamic evolution process showed that:in the resource-reader relationship network, masters and teachers were always in the center of the network, playing the major role in resource utilization;in the resource-institution relationship network, the core institutions exported more literature resources to other member institutions of the network than others, becoming the important resource output institutions in Lib-Passport regional circulation network;in the reader-institutional relationship network, different readers' groups were preferred for the choice of institutional resources. The research on the institutional contribution network about its structure measurements and dynamic evolution process showed that:the density of institutional contribution network was low;there was no correlation between the In-Degree Centrality and Out-Degree Centrality of nodes in this network;the core institutions had the strongest control capability on directing the flow direction and the quantity of the resources among nodes or networks and there were significant geographical features on Lib-Passport regional circulation network. After a comprehensive research, the structure of Lib-Passport regional circulation network presents the following characteristics:the first, the institutions and readers of Lib-Passport regional circulation network cover a wide range. The network members almost cover all universities and categories of readers. The second, the benefits of the Lib-Passport regional circulation network on resource sharing is obviously, which resulting in a huge social and economic benefits. The third,Lib-Passport regional circulation network has regional characteristics. The exchange of resources is frequent between the local institutions, while the degree of resources sharing is high between geographically close areas. The fourth,Lib-Passport regional circulation network is unstable. The overall network density is low,and there are some fluctuations in the status and role of the large-scale libraries and center libraries. The fifth, reader participation of Lib-Passport regional circulation network showed a downward trend.Readers' participation is declining by the influence of digital reading environment, geographical location, traffic logistics and so on.Based on the research on the relative index measurement and dynamic evolution of the structure of Lib-Passport regional circulation network, this paper summarizes the structural characteristics and the actual operation conditions of Lib-Passport regional circulation network. This study considers that the construction and operation of a successful regional resource sharing network should include the following four core elements:(1)the large-scale readership, which is the prerequisite for the construction of the regional resource sharing network;(2)the rich and high quality resources, which is the basis of the construction of the regional resource sharing network;(3)the powerful core institutions, which is the main body of the construction of the regional resource sharing network;(4)perfect mechanism design, which is the guarantee of the construction of the regional resource sharing network.
