Study On The Space Reconstruction And Assessment Of Academic Libraries

The library space reconstruction and space assessment have become one of the hotspots of academic research in recent years.Academic libraries are facing the impact of the rapid development of information technology.The digital transformation makes the traditional paper resources and digital resources coexist.The popularity of personal computers and the coverage of the network led to a fundamental change in the way users use resources.Academic libraries are facing unprecedented pressure,the urgent need to reconstruct space.The extensive application of Internet technology promoted the reform of teaching model.Mutual learning is popular.The emergence of constructivist teaching methods require academic libraries to provide space/hardware/software support,to facilitate teacher and student research and discussion.In this context,the academic library space is still important and needs to be redefined.Based on the research and practice of space reconstruction and space assessment of academic libraries at home and abroad,the concept of space reconstruction and the dimension of space assessment of academic libraries are put forward.Combining user correlation theory,environmental psychology,environmental behavior,architectural aesthetics and other related theoretical basis,the reform and the development under the new situation of academic libraries space are presented.Through the investigation of two new academic libraries buildings in Nanjing,the function and layout requirements of the academic library space based on the users need are summarized.According to the new requirements of" Code for Design of Library buildings " and the demand of space for the academic library users,the assessment objectives,dimensions and methods are clearly identified.Through observational method,questionnaires and interview,the reconstruction projects of the three campus libraries/two universities in Jiangsu province are investigated.To understand the space needs and satisfaction of users,the space service effectiveness.Using comprehensive assessment method to evaluate the user's space usage.Finally,based on the analysis of the research results,feasible space reconstruction direction and suggestion of academic libraries are summarized.
