Design And Implementation Of Smart Home Gateway Based On Android Platform

Smart home gateway system is an important component of Smart Home.Thanks to the development of the smart city,the smart home industry has got lots of attention in recent years.Compared to ordinary home,smart home has lots of advantages such as much more secure,more humane,quicker and easier to operate and so on,greatly improved people's home life experience.However,the standard of smart home products on the market varies greatly,coupled with its high price and poor scalability,make it difficult to spread around.After the research on Android-related technology and smart home market,a low-cost,convenient but humane solution for the smart home gateway system based on Android platform is proposed.The gateway uses Samsung's Exynos4412 as its processor,TVP5150 as the video decoder chip,DM9000CEP as the Ethernet chip,combined with the peripheral circuits and interfaces,to design and complete its hardware platform.Considering the function of smart home gateway system,the software can be divided into four modules when designed,including serial communication,data storage,human-computer interaction and video surveillance.In order to achieve the control of smart devices,first of all,the author uses JNI technology to complete the call of the native interface functions and designs the related agreements of the serial communication,realizing the direct operation to the hardware.After that,making full use of the well-designed database of smart home gateway based on SQLite,the author designs and implements several functional modules including lighting control,appliance control,regional control,video surveillance,scene settings,system settings and finish operating interfaces for each smart device.In addition,the implementation of video capture and storage is completed.At last,the function and performance of the system are tested.Hardware platform and each module is verified with test cases.Then performance tests which are based on the requirements analysis of the system needs are finished under pressure.Test results show that the system is stable,friendly and each module works well.All in all,it's a well-performed system.
