The Construction Of Powerful Discourse In High-speed Railway News Reports

The report of the Ninth National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly stated that the construction of "a powerful country with traffic" should be accelerated.Speeding up the construction of high-speed railways is not only a necessary way to achieve a strong state of transportation,but also an inevitable choice to achieve the dream of a great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.China's high-speed rail continues to make new achievements,gradually making it the newest symbol of China's rise to the world's superpower,and meanwhile,it has received much attention from the mainstream media in the country.This paper selects the high-speed rail coverage of “People's Daily” from 2008 to 2017 to use the framework theory.Based on high-speed railway reports with strong tendency to discourse,high-level,middle-level,and low-level frameworks are analyzed.The study found that the high-speed rail report of the People's Daily was more defined as a science and technology issue and a political issue in the high-level framework.The main sources of information were enterprises and government,supplemented by news reporting and news review;and in the middle-level framework.The topic reporting framework uses more advocacy frameworks and interpretation frameworks.The news form framework focuses on event frameworks.In the low-level framework,attention is paid to the use of keywords and discourse expressions to reflect different reporting themes.It is worth noting that the discourse tendencies are very strong,balanced reports are less.The People's Daily high-speed rail report mainly shows the achievements of China's high-speed rails from a macro perspective,thus reflecting the high-speed rail effect.Key words in different reporting themes point to China's high-speed rails becoming the world standard,China's high-speed rails driving regional economic development,and China's high-speed rail operations.Mileage ranks first in the world,and China's high-speed rail is a typical representative of the spirit of artisans during the rise of great powers.Both the event framework and the issue framework have demonstrated that the development of China's high-speed rail can not be separated from the policies of the party and the country and can not be separated from the strong support of Chinese enterprises.The China High Speed Rail represents China's top scientific and technological strength and will also witness the realization of the dream of a strong nation.
