Research On The Construction And Development Strategy Of Makerspace Of Chinese Public Libraries

With the foundation of Make Magazine and the development of the Maker Faire,the maker movement is leading a wave all over the world.The maker and makerspace have begun to flourish in more and more public places.Meanwhile,under the influence of the surge of electronic literature resources in the digital era,public library began to be at the risk of "marginalization".The emergence of the makerspace undoubtedly provides a new opportunity for public libraries,transformation and service innovation.The public library in America has started to create makerspace ahead of China,and it has formed a relatively perfect development system.Therefore,this research aims to promote the development of Chinese public library makerspace,and it analyzes the concrete construction and development strategy of our country's public library makerspace,on the basis of investigating the establishment and development of the public library makerspace in China and America.By using the website investigation,literature survey and mail interview method,this research investigated the typical cases of Chinese and American public library makerspace.Author analyses the social environment,specific practice and characteristics of Chinese and American public library makerspace in depth.The survey shows that Chinese and American governments,library academics and other institutions of the society have provided a strong support for the development of the public library makerspace.The practice of the public library makerspace in America has been carried out in full swing,while the practice of our country's public library makerspace is still in its infancy.And it has been built only a handful of makerspace,and the development system is not perfect compared to that in America.Finally,based on the comparative analysis of the development gap of Chinese and American public library makerspace,this paper puts forward the concrete construction scheme of Chinese public library makerspace,including the construction principle,the physical space,the virtual platform and other content.Then it puts forward the homologous development strategy of Chinese public library makerspace.
