Reality TV is a renewable topic.Since it was born in the 1990s,it has been highly concerned.In recent years,outdoor reality TV as a type of reality TV has been rapid development,and there have been a number of phenomenal programs.It not only bright benefits to television stations but also produced some serious social effects.There is no doubt that it has already become a light spot on television screens.It is noteworthy that the signature element of outdoor reality TV is outdoors which derived from the vast natural environment or different kinds of life scenes.It jumped out of the stage and studio.In addition,outdoor space not only enrich visual experience of reality TV,also involved in the narrative.This paper analyzes space characteristics and representations of outdoor reality TV.Besides the paper reveals how outdoor reality TV use space to narrate the story.At last,the paper looks again the spatial construction of outdoor reality TV from the angle of cultural study.The first part is about the reason of outdoor reality TV's popularity.What's more,the article defines the outdoor reality TV and confirms the study scope of space.The second part combs through the characteristics and principles of choice of space,and points three representation strategies of space.The third part of this article,based on a large number of text,it analyzes how the outdoor reality TV use space to narrate the story and what disadvantages outdoor space create.The final section,the paper takes a cultural look at the means of handling space adopted by scenarist in outdoor reality TV.
