Research On The Narrative Rhetoric Criticism Method Of Newspaper Reporting

Essentially, journalism is a comprehensive subject which has relationships with every aspect in our daily life. Therefore, researchers in the journalism field are able to drawn nutrients from other subjects and view the journalism field in different perspective. And by that, they free themselves to go across the boundaries of single subject and obtain the fresh concludes and viewpoints.In recent years, there is a trend of turning to the rhetoric in the field of literary criticism. The writer hopes to take this turning into the estimation of the news text through this study, focus attention on the external environment, rhetoric situation, rhetoric effect and rhetoric achievement in the view of multiple dimension including journalism, narratology and rhetoric and estimate the specific news narrative objectively in the specific communication context based on the way of narrative rhetoric criticism for the summary theory and practical experience of the news report in the future.In the narrative paradigm proposed by Walter Fisher, the writer shall explain the connotation of narrative rhetoric criticism applied in the whole field of communication. And then, the writer shall demonstrate the theory basis, practical significance and available operating method of the newspaper’s narrative rhetoric criticism based on the news characteristics. Next, three news comments and three news messages about the food safety problem in Taiwan in 2013 reported by the United Daily News, Apple Daily and China daily shall be taken as examples to analyze. Finally the writer shall revise the news narrative in both structuralism and psychologism, get rid of the embarrassing situation of copying the literary criticism operating method and explore a new method of narrative rhetoric criticism suitable for the newspaper report.
