The popularity of TV series Ode to Joy in the year of 2016 gradually evolved into a reflection of China's current social class and the reality of life.There are some important problems,such as why a TV series to describe five women's work life could cause such a big social repercussions;what is the social reality behind the Ode to Joy effect;the success of Ode to Joy brings what kind of enlightenment to China's TV series with realistic theme.The author chooses Ode to Joy as the object,and uses the theories of communication,sociology,culture,narratology and so on,and then takes a kind of interdisciplinary cultural thinking from three dimensions: text,audience and identity.As a sample of cultural studies Ode to Joy combines the factors of urban workplace drama,family ethics drama,and romantic drama together,not only exert their own narrative function,and these factors generate a new Aesthetic effect collide with each other.It also make great efforts on narrative means,vividly describes female images in different level of workplace.It uses the realism technique of expression to restore their survival patterns to an utmost.Ode to joy establish a space which the same as real life,so that the audience had a strong sense of substitution.The narrator,the narrating viewpoints,as well as the narrative subject had a huge effect on the audience's aesthetic habits and value.It promotes and shapes the audience's self-identity to a large extent.To the receivers,the positive interaction of Internet users provide tremendous impetus for the rapid spread of Ode to Joy.The author carries out the questionnaire and the deep interview by use the network platform to investigate the audience of Ode to Joy,and from the age,gender,education,occupation and other six aspects.Through the discussion and analysis of the questionnaire,it found that the drama succeeded a high recognition in the middle class and women.The author also combined with the theory of "use and satisfaction" in communication theory,and points out that the popularity of Ode to Joy is closely connected with the satisfaction of Identitypsychology,compensation psychology and curiosity psychology of the audiences.The popularity of Ode to Joy was due to the identity of the interpretation of the audience on the characters and values of the characters in the drama and the audience generate identity through cast the characters in the play to themselves.Ode to Joy is a realist drama than an urban workplace drama.Through establishment of a virtual world,Ode to Joy creates a channel for public to imagine and vent.The audience cast the characters' fate on their own body when they enjoy the drama.The dilemma cannot be solved in reality in the TV scene to get a resonance,which makes the audience had a strong illusion,hoping to imitate the characters in the way of life for their own real life to find a way out.However,the TV drama is always a mirror of the virtual,no matter how close to reality but in the end it is not reality.Confusing fictional film with real life will inevitably face a lot of problems,and then it will lead to self-doubt,and finally resulting in deeper reality anxiety.The success of Ode to Joy is due to its true grasp and reflection of the times and the environment,and the audience will understand and recognize the relevant issues under the action of the text and the story of Ode to Joy.The audience also can make their judgments and choices under the joint influence “Symbol world" and "surrounding reality".
