A Comparative Study Of New York Times And China Daily's Report On China's Anti-terrorism Incident

With the intensification of globalization,terrorism has become a common problem facing the world today.This paper,starting from the news reports of China's anti-terrorism incident,taking the New York Times and China Daily as the main research object,through the analysis of content,framework,cases,text and other methods,combined with quantitative and qualitative data,will study the different characteristics of what the domestic and foreign media presented in the report of China's anti-terrorism incident.The question to be explored in this study is how does China improve its anti-terrorism image through the external spread of the news media in the background of the rampant terrorism? After discussing the news reports of Chinese and foreign media,what are the differences between the two,and what are the reasons for this difference? In the face of this gap,the Chinese media can get what kind of inspiration,so as to help the Chinese media improve the communication strategy and China's international image in the external communication.The study found that the "New York Times" and "China Daily" highly different characteristics of Chinese and foreign media coverage."New York Times" in the choice of information sources more diversified,the news framework used to highlight the framework of conflict,narrative model to commentary narrative structure."China Daily" in the choice of the source of information with the "New York Times" to be more simple,the news framework is mainly event development framework,narrative model is a propaganda + investigation narrative structure.The reason will cause the difference between the two may be with the two countries where the media ideology,cultural background and so have a greater relationship.Finally,this article found that compared with foreign media reports,the Chinese media can learn from a lot of feasible experience,improve the reporting skills,improve the reporting capacity,which is conducive to improving China's external spread effect and the image of China's anti-terrorism.
