| Since 2014, China’s anti-corruption series action caused strong repercussions at home and abroad, got many news media’s attention. It’s been a long time that foreign media, especially western media always demonizing China, till now, whether they still keep that “habit” to demonize China against news objectivity or not, that is the purpose and research hypothesis of this paper. This paper focuses on frame research about China’s anti-corruption report of the New York Times. According to Professor Zang Guoren’s research on the operation mechanism of frame theory, this paper will take a research on the surface framework and deep framework of the China’s anti-corruption of the New York Times.The New York Times takes a more modest conflicting report framework. After finishing the research about surface framework can come up with the following conclusions: the peak of reports number concentrated in the time period of top officials being investigated; the longer length is the main length among all the reports; the majority of a type or form of literature is news; news source is given priority to with Chinese Officials and Chinese media. After finishing the research about deep framework can come up with the following conclusions: reports has three themes, the main theme is investigation and trial; neutral and negative attitude got a half-half on the report tendency; the use of keywords indicates ideology and emotional color. The New York Times reports on China’s anti-corruption framework formation of the main influence factors analysis from two aspects of internal causes and external causes. Internal causes include political conservatism; anonymous sources create “conflict” and preference for the bad news. External causes include the differences about social culture and national interest between American and China. Due to the reasons, three advices for improving external communication and national image, using principle of balanced report, improve the level of external communication; promote national soft power, improve the way of reporting; enhance the international communication, complete news release system. |
