| What Liu xiang won at the Athens Olympics attracted worldwide attention. Liu xiang as a elite athlete, had a profound influence in China, even had become China’s business card in the international arena. Liu’s sudden withdrawal in 2008 and 2012 Olmpic, presented a public opinion at home and abroad.The China Daily, as China’s first national English daily, made a large contribution China’s foreign communication. And worldwide influence is also growing. The New York times as the authoritative mainstream print media, is the world’s reference papers. This paper analyzes these two media as the research object, tries to discuss the mainstream media discourse differences in reports about liu events, and to determine the hidden ideology and reflects the personal and national image.This study chose two big media web site, in 2008 and 2012 of liu’s withdrawal. Utilizing the theory of discourse analysis, this paper put the text in the discourse of contrast, and to summarize the mainstream discourse of the media in reporting the same event, explores the ideology hidden behind the words.Firstly, this paper compared the two media discourse from the title, guide part, the main body and the end part. And summed up the different discourse structure interpretation of word meaning.Secondly, in this paper, the mechanism of the text is compared from the discourse source, new source and news genre. And to summarize that two media in different words, type of manuscript source and genre, can produce different types and styles, express different feelings.Thirdly, this paper analyses the two countries news transmission system, the mode of thinking, and cultural background, and summarizes the different news environment will create different nature of the news media organizations.Finally, this paper combined advantages and disadvantages aspect in the process of report. Meanwhile, this paper put forward the proposal of report strategies, writing and editing program and mechanism innovation for The China Daily. |
