LED display,which consists of LED lattice and LED PC tablet,can realize the real-time display and looping of text,image and video by the switch of all kinds of LED light.With the rapid development of LED display technology both at home and abroad,LED display information have already been widely applied in the areas of national defense,bus system,mineral and factory.The design and application of the single color and full color LED controlled by the single chip microcomputer are focused in the paper.The single color LED,with STC12C series of single chip microcomputer as the core controller,analyzes the design of LED's driving circuit,combined with the chip 74HC154 as row driver and 74HC595 as column driver,and with PC,LED display,Proteus and Keil software simulation,debugging,the matrix of eight 16 X16 dot screen,which can display graphics or text,with the function of static display,left and right move.LED display driven by STC12C5A60S2 with fewer wires can make programming easy and the function of the system stable.The controlling system of full color LED display consists of LED display drive,gray control theory,and the high-speed refreshing theory,with STM32 micro-processor and FPGA as the core controller,Quartus ? and ModelSim and Visual C++ and IAR tools,by using of the duty ratio method modulation gray-scale,which can realize the design and simulation of 16×16 full color LED display unit board and transmit the data to LED display at a high speed and Ethernet communication with DM9000A.The two boards together can realize full color LED display asynchronous controlling system with the resolution of 32×32,full color LED with gray-scale of 256,in which the assembly of LED display system and electromagnetic interference problems are analyzed.The design of "Study and application of LED display controlling system" aims to stress the knowledge of single chip microcomputer,improve the students' ability of analyzing,problem-solving and practicing.In order to further the study of LED display system of PC and realize image decoding.In addition,the SOPC technology can be applied to the analysis of LED display synchronous control system.
