With development of science and technology,embedded digital image processing system has been widely used in industrial,military,medical and other fields.As the focus of embedded image system,development and testing of sensor is very important to research and development of production.This paper designed a processing platform with Zynq series ARM+FPGA single chip using COMS image sensor as acquisition front-end.This design combined advantages of FPGA and ARM to the image processing system which improves efficiency,flexibility and scalability.The design has high research value,and is very suitable to the design of embedded image processing platform which has growing performance and functional requirements.From view point of computing performance,FPGA is an ideal solution as the master of image acquisition system in traditional image acquisition system design.But a complete image acquisition system not only needs powerful computation ability,but also need data processing,network transmission,image display,and other functions.The function of CPU is particularly important to image acquisition system.Xilinx company launched Zynq-7000 series which provides "ARM + FPGA" single chip solution.The solution not only can get higher computing power by FPGA,but also can rely on the ARM processor to complete more complex applications.This paper designed a Zynq based high definition high frame rate CMOS image acquisition system.This paper designed the drive module and image acquisition module of CMOS sensor using the Verilog hardware description language,and seted up the hardware platform of the whole system which is the main program of FPGA and ARM processor extensible peripherals,including data transmission channel between ARM and FPGA.ARM software platform embedded Linux system,and designed the driver of the FPGA peripherals and network communication function.PC programs are written using C/C++,using Qt platform to design interface which realized real-time image data receiving.After test,the sensor is set for 16 channel model,resolution of 2048*1088,master clock 24 MHz.Thereby image acquisition rate is 3840 Mbps,frame rate is 170 fps,and realized high frame rate acquisition,image upload frame rate is 14 fps,and realized high resolution real-time display of the image in the upper machine.This design used Zynq design platform with combination of ARM and FPGA respective advantages,and improved efficiency of the design and performance of the system,has high research value in the design of embedded image processing.
