Application Of Server Virtualization Technology In Campus Network

Fuyang preschool education college was upgraded from a technical secondary school.Information construction of this college was very weak and need strengthening.The number of servers has increased because of the growing number of volume of business.Information construction,such as deployment,adjustment and maintenance,is facing severe challenge.It is needed to find a new way to make management easier.Virtualization is a new technology in recent years,which is not only changing the entire IT infrastructure gradually,but also bringing about a new solution for campus network management.We try to introduce server virtualization technology in campus network,which can improve utilization of server hardware and change the way of management.It is our next direction of construction of the virtualization technology.This paper described server virtualization technologies from theory to practice briefly,and knowed the basis of server virtualization.Using VMware vSphere 5.5-related components,we implemented server virtualization of campus.Meanwhile,network and storage of virtualization process was given separately.The following main work was completed.(1)Analysis of problems and replanned campus network of Fuyang preschool education college.It made campus network safe rafter improved VLAN and introduced port isolation.(2)Completed campus network server virtualization platform of Fuyang preschool education college.(3)We implemented the advanced function of virtualization,such as HA,DRS and FT,and verified the stability and reliability of campus network server virtualization platform of Fuyang preschool education college.Finally,we introuduced the corresponding technical problems after used server virtualization technology in practice.Then,we found that certain problems which not very related to technology were the main reason for hinder the application of this technology.Because of this reason,we made a short-term planning for the next step of technology.
