Design And Implement Of The Enterprise IT Planning And Server Virtualization Capacity Planning System

As the development of IT, the enthusiasm of enterprises’ IT construction is rising. However, many problems are exposed in the process of enterprises’ IT construction. As a result, more and more enterprises realize the significance of enterprise IT Planning. In addition, variety of new technologies, such as cloud computing, virtualization, are gradually applied to the enterprises’ IT construction.A company of China Mobile Group is planning to draw its IT Planning Blueprint in response to the requirements of China Mobile Group. The IT Planning output has been accomplished under the study of many methodologies and a lot of fundamental work. The output successfully evaluates IT capacity of A company, proposing some constructive suggestions and giving a blueprint for the future. Besides, the output includes capacity planning of server virtualization.This paper describes following parts:1. Analyze and summarize the existing IT Planning method and take A company’s requirements into accounts, then putting forward a relative novel IT Planning method. This method covers IT Evaluation phase, IT Architecture Planning phase and IT Evolution Planning phase. Actually, this method is feasible and adaptive for enterprises’ IT Planning.2. The IT Planning method raised has been successfully applied in the process of IT Planning of A company. Through the introduction of the IT Planning method in this paper, not only you can understand it in macro level, but also grasp it in detail. And the intermediate outputs and ultimate outputs can effectively guide the IT construction of A company.3. Desing and implement Server Virtualization Capacity Planning System. This system mainly solves the critical problem of server virtualization that how to map source servers to target servers when considering their resource utilization.This paper mainly studies the method of enterprise IT Planning and Server Virtualization Capacity Planning problem. Based on the achievements exist, reconstruct IT Planning method and merge into some special analytical tools, then forming a feasible IT Planning method. What’s more, the solution to server mapping problem provides a novel idea when facing this kind of problem. Above is the main innovation points of this paper, and it is expected that theory raised in this paper can be a reference to other enterprises.
