The production management of cost reduction efficiency increase and retrenchment is not suitable to apply in current steel industry. In order to avoid waste of inventory, lower the cost, increase the work efficiency, use the goods reasonably, pair the storage input/output information in real time, organize the storage properly, grasp the storage capacity and synchronize logistics and information, the relevant problems need to be solved urgently.The paper presents a storage management system based on iPlature platform. The UACS is primary for unmanned crane management and contains the main functions of WMS. UACS system manages both logical and physical storage locations of the whole warehouse. UACS commands the crane automatic storage input/output work and return the work results to L2 system. In case of storage input work, the crane will follow the storage location instructions from the transport machine. In case of storage output work, the crane will follow the planning operation sequence which is based on lorry category, exact goods and lorry stowage plan. The i Superframe, which is the frame of iPlature, is composed by a plug-in mode client and numbers of universal function modules. UACS system panel is the HMI developed frame based on Microsoft.NET.After repeatedly practical testing, our storage management system can work perfectly by applying UACS system which is developed by us. UACS has already been applied and proved. The work status is stable and perfect. The technology applied is advanced. The customers work efficiency is significantly improved. The economic benefit is highly recognized. UACS is worth popularizing and applied.
