A Research On Care Ethics Of News Reports About Vulnerable Groups

Care ethics is a feminist ethic of Western feminist thinkers,which is different from the male justice ethic.The main representatives are American scholar Carol Gilligan,Nell Noddings and Joan Trento.Care ethics is concerned about human emotions and special circumstances,and advocates that it varies from situation to situation as well as from people to people in life with scrupulous attention to detail.The principles of care ethics mainly include the principle of humanism,the principle of responsibility,the principle of respect and the principle of circumstances.Vulnerable groups are important parts of our population.Vulnerable groups are social groups characterized by poverty of economic interests,low level of life quality and vulnerability of affordability due to personal factors,natural environment factors and social factors and other reasons.According to the causes of weakness,this article divides the vulnerable groups into three categories,namely,physical vulnerable groups,natural vulnerable groups and social vulnerable groups.Physical vulnerable groups mainly include children,the elderly,major disease patients and disabled people.Natural vulnerable groups mainly include people in ecologically fragile areas and those in disaster.Social vulnerable groups mainly include migrant workers,laid-off workers,the unemployed,the poor,vagrants and beggars.Different vulnerable groups need different care.The physical vulnerable groups mainly need life care,emotional care and information care.The natural vulnerable groups mainly need life care,spiritual care and relief care.The social vulnerable groups mainly need dignity care,economic care and rights care.The News practitioners are social observers,so it is essential to observe professional ethics,to enhance humanistic quality,and to adhere to the correct guidance of public opinion.In news reports,journalists should adhere to the principle of people-oriented,pay attention to the vulnerable groups and develop the spirit of humanistic care so that the news media can really play its role in promoting social civilization and progress.In the reports of vulnerable groups,the media should follow the principle of care ethics and provide care for different vulnerable groups.In this regard,some reports do better,but some reports lack the appropriate caring spirit.In the reports of vulnerable groups,the media should follow the principle of careethics,and embody the concept of people-oriented,which is the proper choice of socialist journalistic career.
