Present State And Problems Of News Reports On Vulnerable Groups

Expressing due concern for Vulnerable Groups is not only the requirement of spirit of the time,but also the need for the realization of a healthy cycle in shaping the media's sound and reliable image.The thesis,based on all the reports about Vulnerable Groups from the newspapers like Nanfang Daily and Nanfang Weekend in 2008,is aiming to analyze the general state of Vulnerable Groups,and the common-used four describing patterns in these reports are:grief-stricken pattern,help-seeking pattern,encouraging pattern,and consultative and meditating pattern.Furthermore,the thesis figures out that so many realistic problems still result in lack of humanitarian care for such a Group,the main problems like care superficiality,the Group's "being-consumed",Non-hum anitarianism pictures,discrinative language in reports,etc.The major reasons for these existing problems comprise discourse deprivation of Vulnerable Groups,Market-oriented influence,as well as the media itself lacking of humanitarian spirit.Therefore,the paper re-advocates on the principle of reporting the real state of the Groups,emphasizing that the journalists should correct the knowledge of humanitarian care,insist on entire reality in journal reports,and keep the balanced and just journal concept in order to render sincere and everlasting humanitarian concern for Vulnerable Groups.
