With the development of network,Internet of things has become a development trend following the Internet.As an important part of the Internet of things,wireless sensor network is composed of a large number of low-power wireless nodes.How to make a large number of nodes communicate well with other nodes,and communicate with devices in other networks is a hot research topic.It is also the basis for large scale wireless sensor network applications in the future.This paper studies and implements networking process,data transmission between nodes in wireless sensor network,and data exchange between computers and nodes in wireless sensor networks.The research of this paper mainly focuses on RPL routing protocol for wireless sensor networks,its performance analysis and improvement of RPL routing protocol.This paper mainly deals with following aspects: Firstly,the physical layer and media access control layer of IEEE 802.15.4 protocol in wireless sensor networks are discussed briefly.Comparing with IPv4,IPv6 protocol is selected as the network layer protocol for wireless sensor network.Some knowledge of IPv6 protocol used in this paper is described.Secondly,aiming at the problem that IPv6 protocol can not be directly applied to 802.15.4 IEEE protocol,6LoWPAN adaptation layer is introduced and the functions of 6LoWPAN adaptation layer are studied.On this basis,the construction process of RPL routing protocol and routing process are studied,and the timing algorithm is analyzed.Based on the above research analysis,RPL routing protocol based on 6LoWPAN adapter layer is implemented,and the network scenario is designed for 6LoWPAN adaptation layer and RPL routing protocol's functional tests.In view of the deficiency of the timing algorithm in power consumption,an improved timing algorithm is proposed,and it can effectively save the power consumption of the network.Finally,since the performance analysis of RPL routing protocol and the study of actual network scenarios are still relatively few,different network topologies and node mobility scenarios are designed for the the performance analysis of RPL routing protocol on cooja simulation platform.
