Currently, wireless sensor network is used widely. Sensor network requires a large number of IPaddress, and it can combine with IPv6easily. IPv6wireless sensor network is a new network.Running the IPv6protocol in the ordinary nodes will have a profound impact on wireless sensornetworks. Therefore, IPv6protocol stack suitable for wireless sensor networks has become animportant research topic.Based on6LoWPAN technology proposed by the IETF working group, IPv6protocol stackwhich is suitable for ordinary nodes of low power wireless sensor network is implemented.First of all, IPv6protocol, ICMPv6and neighbor discovery protocol are cutted according toapplication background and the draft agreement. At the same time, the6LoWPAN adaptation layeris discussed in more detail. IPv6protocol after cutting mainly include data transceiver functions, neighbor discovery protocol address prefix discovery, address resolution and select the next hopaddress function. Adaptation layer includes packet format, header compression, fragmentation andreassembly, and stateless address auto-configuration and mesh routing forwarding.Secondly, IPv6protocol stack is implemented through the TinyOS communication mechanismsand components. It includes data transceiver part, adaptation layer section, neighbor discovery partand mesh routing forwarding part. The programming language uses nesC.Finally, this paper tests the protocol stack from two aspects. First, a simulation environment isbuilt to test the stateless address auto configuration and Mesh routing forwarding. Secondly, theprotocol stack is tested in single-point and star network. The test results show that the protocol stackis able to complete the implementation. This lays the foundation for the combination of IPv6protocol and wireless sensor networks.
