As China high precision backbone equipment on TT&C network for sea range,high-power pulse radar mostly accomplishes real-time tracking and measurement and control task, gets the trajectory parameters of aircraft and monitors flight procedures to ensure test security, as well as assesses the main combat and technical indicator to improve programming design. Due to great transmission power and tracking distance and high accuracy, pulse radar generally exerts microwave technology, high-frequency radio technology, signal detection technology, automatic control technology, computer technology and communication technology.Thus pulse radar is becoming more and more complex. The fault diagnosis has become a very complicated task. But the wartime mission requires online resources on pulse radar fault diagnosis including fast and accurate mechanism, clear and effective measures, rapid diagnosis and measure to ensure operational capability for the first time. Aim at the current situation of intelligent diagnosis technology and characteristic features and diagnostic needs of pulse radar, design the radar center working model and long distance working model. After studying on the fault tree diagnosis and expert systems development methodology, to combine with radar failures characteristic symptom and the current common intelligent diagnostic method, an expert system based on fault tree diagnosis and case(dictionary) on fault diagnosis design based on the fault tree and fault dictionary dual-mode repository unified storage frame to improve operating efficiency of the system is proposed.Establish a fault tree diagnosis system, consists of elaborated on the basic principles of the rule-based diagnostic expert system, the composition and function of each part. Futher using fault tree analysis and a rule-based expert system, combine in diagnostic methods to obtain the knowledge required by the expert system fault tree techniques. Functional modules of intelligent fault diagnosis expert system are designed for the receiver and no echo signal on branches, process the example fault reasoning and verification.Based on PXI systems, virtual instrument modules, corresponding with pulse radar test diagnosis are selected to implement system hardware structure and software design. Module of the system software research and design were projected, compiling the corresponding fault diagnosis system software program. The entire system is divided into system management, data processing, database operations and results display. And with faults instances, the correctness and reliability and effectiveness of system operation is verified.The system integrates existing radar fault diagnosis expert knowledge, can help pulse radar technicians quickly complete fault diagnosis and remove fault accurately. Interactive interface is friendly, has a good open and scalable. With the growth of system uptime, the system experience and knowledge will continuously be improved, corresponding that the accuracy of diagnosis is improved. By application of the system, realize the daily local maintenance guide and remote fault intelligent diagnosis to ensure the combat capability of pulse radar.
