In Virtual Instrument (VI) system, users can define and design the virtual functions by themselves. With the rapid development of computer technology, VI is applied to many fields, such as the Fault Diagnosis and the Autocontrol. With the popularization of network technology, VI is applied to internet.Radar Fault Diagnosis System (RFDS) is a large branch in automatic testing field. Many methods for Fault Diagnosis are enriching with the development of science and technology, such as Expert System (ES) and Nerve Network (NN). This paper introduces the development and configuration of ES at first. Then, it introduces interrelated technologies, development tools and data processing for VI. Finally, it introduces the key technologies about Remote Virtual Instrument (RVI).This system is a part of the RFDS designed by VisualC++. This paper particularly describes the realization of VI system and the designing of software with friendly-operating interface based on Dynamic Link Library (DLL). The software is designed by using LabWindows/CVI and realizes functions of data collecting, data transacting and data displaying. With the development of network, the RVI becomes more and more important. Many development tools for VI provide the function of designing RVI. This paper introduces the realization of a RVI system based on the C/S mode using LabWindows/CVI.
