As the development of science and technology, our understanding of acoustic is becoming complete. Different acoustic signals have different characteristics. Transient signal is applied to many fields, and the analysis of it is worth studying. But first, the analysis needs original acoustic signals. This system is a transient signal recorder that is about the acquisition of original acoustic signal.The transient signal recorder is an acquisition and storage system of the transient signal,using the acquisition and storage system model. This paper, response to the need of the system, develops a hardware platform to satisfy system requirements. The system's design process can be divided into four parts: the analysis of system theory, the achievement of system hardware, the achievement of system software and the analysis of system test.This paper firstly introduces current situation of transient signal and its recorder,expounds characteristics of transient signal and the algorithm of its measurement and identification. Then, use TMS320F28335 as the core of the control system to finish the minimal system of DSP, signal conditioning circuit, signal collecting circuit, real time clock circuit, data migration circuit, data storage and the design of power supply circuit. The software part, under CCS environment, is programmed with C language, to realize data collecting, data detection, data caching, final data storage and other system functions, and,data analysis and drawing are realized by MATLAB. Finally, test performances of signal conditioning circuit, data collecting, data storage and real time clock. After the test and analysis of each performance,overall system performance is tested. It works well in laboratory and outfield experiments. It shows that the system satisfies the design requirements,and, both software and hardware achieve the intended functions.
