Study On Homosexual Reports By <Xin Min Weekly>

Homosexuality,as a kind of special social existence,the public still keep it secret to a large extent,and mainly through the coverage of mass media.As a real record,it is full of practical significance to discover the mass media coverage of homosexuality and homosexuality issues,and it is of profound significance to find out the social context and possible problems.First I select the <Xin Min News Weekly> as object of this paper,by using the framework theory to analyze the content of news about homosexuality in <Xin Min News Weekly>(2012-2016),then analyze the text frame and the character frame about coverage of the homosexuality,try to analyze the characteristics and shortcomings of news weekly in homosexuality coverage.Secondly,by using the discourse analysis theory to analyze five typical reports on homosexuality in <Xin Min News Weekly>(2012-2016),from the macro news schema,micro-text structure,narrative perspective,discourse function,etc.At the end of the paper,try to summarize characteristics of homosexuality and the defects of the reports,then put forward the optimization strategy to improve the homosexuality report.According to the paper research,it shows that the news weekly adhere to the people's livelihood perspective,trying to build humanities discourse,which is also closely related with the reality of social environment and social awareness.However news weekly shows gender bias,geographical bias and other stereotypes on the existence of homosexual image,besides,the news weekly is lack of deep interpretation on homosexuality issues.This is closely related to our deep-rooted traditional ideas and cultural ideas.Based on the above research results,I believe that news weekly should strengthen the balance of discourse and constructive discourse,optimize the concept of reporting,grasp the agenda,and improve news reports on homosexuality,try to be objective and authentic.
