Till now our television travel program has passed nearly 40 years.Although it has its vigorous development and prosperous period,the development trend is not optimistic from the whole picture and the pace of development is very slow.There also exit some problems during the making process.Some famous travel programs,such as Travel Vane with CCTV,World Tour and Travel Around China with Travel Channel,have been closed down or changed its original form.The survival status of Chinese television travel program is extremely hard.But the launch of Where are we going,dad?,a parent-child reality show with travel theme aired by Hunan TV in 2013 instantly changed the status and it became the winner of audience rating at its time,even everybody waiting for the show all the time.This is a very successful case of combining the reality show with travel theme under the background and general develop trend of media integration and type integration.The emergence of this new form inspires the former situation of Chinese television travel program and brings a new vision and wish.So it's particularly important to work out the task that how to continue the good momentum and help our television travel program find its own way to obtain sustainable development.This is the key point of the thesis,and also the valuable part.This paper is not only made up by television theories and the experience of successful television travel programs,but also involves my personal practice.To be more reasonable,detail and accurate,Literature Data Method,Comparative Study Method,Case Study Method and Data Analysis Method are integrate used to complete the research.This paper mainly consists of the following four parts.The first chapter defines the related concepts,and sorts out the resulting background,development process,characteristics and types of Chinese television travel program in order to find out,analyze and solve the problems.The second chapter reflects the current difficulties and worrying survival status of Chinese travel program via arranging the broadcasting and rating data of some Chinese travel programs.The third chapter analyzes the problems of Chinese televisiontravel program from the aspects of rating,form,content,packaging and brand effectiveness,and mainly analyzes the reasons from internal dimension of these programs.The fourth chapter proposes the development strategies from three aspects-the program's own internal transformation,external improvement and absorption the advantages of paper media and network media,combined with my own experiences of making travel program.I hope these will be helpful for our television travel program to break through the current dilemma and find out its own way to obtain sustainable development.
