The pay-digital-television has become a mature, universal business mode today since the HBO started broadcasting in the early 1970s.After 30 years development, the pay-digital-television has grown as one of the most important incoming sources of the television industry in the developed countries. In China, the pay-digital-television has developed for a few years and digital pay TV platforms have been established in many cities. Because of the deficiencies of programs and the broadcasting institutions in China, however, there are few companies in the real commercial running processes and little successful business examples in profit gaining. In spite of the limitation of the current condition, the pay-digital-television, a product of high technology, is still the future of broadcasting enterprise and the market potential of China's pay-digital-television in very enormous.In order to make China's pay-digital-television into rapid and healthy development, the characteristics and the current development conditions of China's pay-digital-television were analyzed in this thesis. Furthermore, the different modes of China's pay-digital-television were compares to summarize their virtues and deficiencies. Based on this analysis, some suggestions were put forward to resolve the current problems in China's pay-digital-television development.
