A Research On Newscartoon In People's Daily Between 1987 And 2008

This is an era of reading pictures.All media that rely on visual sense,regardless of newspapers,magazines or television networks,attach increasing importance to using picture-information without exception.It combines organically with texts,sound, video,and other factors and form a more complete way and channel for reporting. News photography,as its trueness,gives the audience more relative power visually,so that audiences can share their feelings more directly.A variety of pictures,therefore, can enrich illustration of layout,and condition the audience's emotions.Charts can compare all sorts of data,so that the audience is able to gather plenty of information and data in a very short time by reading charts.As a result,charts have been widely used when data are listed.In addition to the above categories,news cartoon also occupy a lot of weight.It has been widely recognized that news cartoon plays a positive role in news report.News cartoon,as a result of its effectiveness,popularity, as well as its unique way in demonstration,is favorable to the audience.Although news cartoon was born more than 100 years ago and it has had a glorious history and made lots of contribution,there has not been fully professional research on it.As a form of news report,news comic has been practiced and applied in various ways.However,it is always forgotten in the research and study of journalism.This dissertation chooses "People's Daily",which is the most representative, valuable,and has received full recognition among domestic professionals,as its research object.It analyses the development of news cartoon between 1987 and 2008 in "People's Daily" with the application of sampling and empirical study.It points out that the development of news cartoon is in line with the development of the newspaper.It dose not only adhere to the spirit of the party but also adhere to the implementation of the "three-close" direction. Underline by structuralism as theoretical base,this paper analyses news cartoon by empirical,statistical and historical comparative analysis.It combines news cartoon with the context of the whole society.It demonstrates the changes in content,form and progress,as well as its characteristics.This paper is divided into six sections.In the introductory section,the author highlights the definition of news cartoon and introduces the main research area in the paper.In the first chapter,it overviews the development of news cartoon in People's Daily in the past two decades and puts forward the problems the author has discovered. The second chapter is devoted to the design of the research project.The author introduces the type of research program design,research method,and the unit of analysis and sources of data.Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 are core elements of the paper. The author analyses and explains the content setting and forms of arrangement,based on samplings.Chapter 3 is contributed to two aspects:report object and deepness.In Chapter 4,it demonstrates from the respective of sources of reports and form of arrangement.In the conclusive section,the paper compares People's daily with other party newspaper and local paper and summarizes the changed and the unchanged between 1987-2008 in news cartoon in People's Daily.Finally,the author concludes on the change and insistence of People's Daily.
