The rapid development of new network media provides a rich soil for the cultural communication and cultural exchange. The culture of each ethnic minority belongs to the precious wealth of Chinese traditional culture. With the fast expanding of new media, it should promote and inherit with its technology and platform. How to better protect cultural diversity is an urgent problem to be soled. Cultural symbol refers to the cultural form that a certain cultural group is authorized to bear, and under the effect of mass media, it forms the representative symbol of a certain group in people's cognition. In this paper, under the background of the active application of the new media to the cultural contents of the new media, we comb and sum up the transmission characteristics and types of the Mongolian cultural symbols in the new media transmission, combined with a large number of typical cases to analyze and studied. Explores how cultural symbols are constructed on new media platforms, as well as the characteristics and the impact of communication.At first we discuss the concept of cultural symbols, new media and so on. We mainly analyze the ten cultural symbols published by Inner Mongolia Academy of Social Sciences in 2013,analyzes the"communication environment" ,"classification" ,"connotation" ,"generalization of communication", "transformation of moral meaning",and the classification of "cultural symbols". In the third chapter,from the historical origins of the cultural symbols and meaning and change of the cultural symbol with different dimensions and specific cases. In the fourth chapter, according to the analysis of the previous chapter combined with the knowledge of communication, we conclude and analyze the transmission characteristics of the cultural symbols under the new media circumstance. Finally,on the basis of the first four chapters, combined with the reference communication theory, we discuss the influence of new media on the construction of Mongolian cultural symbols and its spread on the whole cultural communication.The purpose and significance of this paper is to explore the construction and dissemination of cultural symbols in the new media environment, and the effects of new media on the impact of cultural symbols, as well as the influence of cultural symbols on cultural transmission.
