The Ethical Study Of The News Of Aylan

In 2015,the photo of the drown boy Alan Kurdi turned public attention toward European refugee issue and brought hotness argumentation on ethical problem around the world.However,the western media have different attitudes.Some of them created an atmosphere of sympathy and support the policy of refugees accepting,and the others treat refugees as potential security threats of Europe and drew a correlation between the news and the event of sexual assault which had happened in Cologne on the New Year eve of 2016.On the one hand,with the spirit of humanitarianism,it is normally that media support the policy of accepts refugees.On the other hand,with the safety scare theory,it is also reasonably that media resist the entering of refugees.In addition,people questioning the authenticity of the picture,and condemning the media to make the news more eye-catching by sensational pictures.All of these disputes need to be resolved by appropriate ethical standards.This thesis consists of four parts.Chapter one contrasts the contents,opinions and strategies of the news about refugees of four typical western media and frames the research questions.Chapter two analyzes the news by Potter Box and makes clear the standpoint selection of western media.Chapter three interprets the five phenomena of the news,tries to analyze the ethical problems of Alan's news and to provide a moral approach of news reporting of European refugees.
