A data processing system was designed for range and velocity detection of radar including three parts: FFT processing block by FPGA,data transfer block based on Ethernet-port,frequency spectrum generation block by MATLAB.MATLAB generate digital signal of radar wave and transfer to FFT block of FPGA,the data after FFT processing by FPGA is transmitted to MATLAB for frequency spectrum calculation, then we could get the information of range and velocity.Field-Programmable Gate Array(FPGA)is suitable for high-speed data transfer by its parallel, reconfigurable, high integration properties;Fast Fourier transform(FFT)is the important part of radar signal processing, have fixed calculation structure that is suitable for FPGA implementation;MATLAB have the advantage of flexible expansion. In this sense, the system combines parallel processing of FPGA with customization and expansion of MATLAB.The FFT signal is 512 points,16-bit data, the algorithm is base on radix-2 Decimation-In-Time.The paper is mainly divided into three parts: FFT data calculation block in FPGA,data system soft control based on MicroC/OS-II,Radar signal processing and implementation in data processing system.FFT data calculation block including FFT butterfly calculation unit,dual-channel RAM unit and ROM unit storing twiddle factors.SGDMA bus connect data calculation block, data transfer block and Nios II CPU,improve the speed of data processing. The soft design of data processing system is based on MicroC/OS-II to control data flow, which execute task switch by setting priority of task.In last, the paper makes test for data processing system,it achieve the requirement.
